All Hazard Preparedness...

Continuity of Operations

Have you developed a preparedness plan to ensure continuity of your operation and ultimately your practice viability; do you have a personal preparedness plan for your family in case of a disaster - you need to know that your family is safe before you can care for your patients.

Are You Ready?

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to update you on our Weld County All Hazards Awareness educational efforts. As you may recall, last year we conducted a number of content seeding sessions. We spoke to over 200 local physicians, and presented the idea of individuals and organizations needing to develop personal preparedness plans, as well as practice preparedness plans; plans to enhance the prospect of assuring personal and practice viability, when any type of disaster or social disruption may occur.

Our phase I efforts culminated with an actual full scale exercise being conducted at a local clinic. En route to this successful exercise, the participating clinic participated in developing personal preparedness plans for their staff, a practice continuity of operations plan, with an associated pandemic preparedness annex. This may sound like a lot of work, however, they didn’t have to do it all alone, and their efforts serve as a solid investment in the future success of their facility.

Our next phase of educational effort seeks to continue the momentum generated last year. We will be helping four clinics/practices develop their personal preparedness plans, their continuity of operations plans, and their pandemic preparedness annex. In addition, we will be doing significant, similar work with a large community care provider, while further integrating our efforts with our local hospital system. Our revenue stream has been significantly scaled back, but our commitment to the successful outcome of the project has only intensified.

Those physicians, which were contacted last year, will soon be receiving some follow up material produced during our phase I activities. Included in the material, you will find an interest card. If you are interested in additional information, assistance and/or services, please return the card, or contact Ms. Jackie Foose, at (970) 353-2596, to schedule an appointment.

We look forward to working with as many of the dedicated Weld County physicians as possible. We greatly appreciate the consideration you have shown toward this program throughout the past year.

Respectfully Submitted,
