Community Outreach Projects...

The Annual Don and Elsie Cook Award was established to honor the Cooks who have given so much to our community by:

  • Recognizing the accomplishments of outstanding graduating seniors and to inspire younger students to excel academically and to become involved in their school and community.
  • To recognize teachers who are committed to their profession, but more importantly to honor those that truly care about each of their students and work hard to give them the tools to succeed in life.

This is the Society's "signature" event for the community, with the goal of growing and expanding each year.

Awards are given for:

  • Outstanding Graduating Senior ($2,000 Scholarship - the scholarships is not limited to the medical field)
  • Most Inspirational Teacher ($1,000 Honorarium)
  • Lifetime Achievement Award ($1,000 Honorarium)

Weld County schools are invited to apply to showcase their talent and provide entertainment for the ceremony.

Classroom Grants
Each year, Weld County Medical Society awards grant funding to Weld County middle school and high school classrooms for medically-related, educational items.

"Start Teaching Resistance in Kids Early (S.T.R.I.K.E.) Force Home Run Against Drugs."
WCMS endorse "Start Teaching Resistance in Kids Early (S.T.R.I.K.E.) Force Home Run Against Drugs." This program is designed to help empower children to make good life-style choices. It is presented to 3rd grade students throughout Weld County. As part of the program, each student is presented with a personalized "Homer & Me" book that makes each child the "star" of a story about staying drug free and healthy. WCMS is identified as a sponsor in each book and will receive recognition in publicity of the program. Click here to learn more.
